Gay Marriage Dispute…

It is not the government’s role to pass legislation that requires or prohibits the union between a man and a woman, a man and a man, a woman and a woman so on and so, to be carried out by those who marry people. It is a social issue and a sacred bond between individuals and the religious institutions and or ceremonial institutions to decide on their own without government interference. It’s a decision that the churches and ceremonial groups should make. For example, if a particular Church wants to allow gay marriage in their Church that is their right to do so, and if a Church right across the street wants to deny gay marriage that is also their right to do so. That’s a moral choice that must be made by the church/marriage institution, not the state. If you as an individual do not agree with a particular Church’s decision you have the right to leave that church and join another church that practices morality that you agree with. This is a moral issue for us as a society to work out on our own without government interference. The bottom line is, government should not pass any laws prohibiting a church from allowing gay marriage and should not pass any laws forcing churches to allow gay marriage. When the government stays out of it, I can guarantee you there will be plenty of churches and or institutions that will be aligned with your personal lifestyle decisions. The religious right doesn’t need to freak out, and gay folks don’t need to freak out either. Live and let live.
